If you are going to go to the trouble of creating a resume in the first place, what can you do to get the people in charge of hiring to actually read it? Better yet, what do you need to do to get the hiring manager to take enough notice of your resume to call you for an interview ? The answer is actually not that tough. So here is that resume writing tip one more time: Remember that the resume is not about you.
4. Resume length. A general rule of thumb is one to two pages, depending on how much space is needed to accurately put down all the necessary information in a readable format. There are a few exceptions. On certain technical resumes, or resumes for corporate officers with long careers, three pages can be acceptable. For academic, foreign, or research CVs, I dont limit the page length.
